The new Challenge starts tomorrow (Monday, Feb 1st).

We remind you that we have implemented some changes to our Challenge activities.

Stars

In order to let you complete challenges more easily (not faster, that’s important), we have added stars to daily, weekly, and special missions.

So, why is this better?

If you complete all the daily and weekly missions you receive during a challenge, you automatically complete the challenge.

But what if I miss some missions?

In this case, you still can earn stars in matchmaking battles. Also, don’t forget that special missions will also have stars in prizes! These will let you complete 3-4 stages of any challenge.

Have you replaced current mission prizes with stars?

No, no, and no. We haven’t replaced the prizes which you receive from missions with stars. We have simply added stars to these prizes.

You do not need to spend a lot of time during weekends now, just complete daily missions every day and weekly missions every week.

We will keep an eye on your reviews and maybe some other changes will be implemented later to make challenges even better.

In addition to the Crystals, Supplies, Batteries and other goodies that you’ve come to expect, this month’s Challenge features the following special rewards:

Hello, tankers!

We’ve got our eyes on the new stage of Tanki’s evolution. Some time ago, we told you that the game will get a new look.

Well, today, it’s time to update the look of one more item! Please welcome Smoky HD!

The upgraded skin Smoky HD will not only give to your tank an innovative design but also add magnificent special effects to your turret: barrel rollback, after shot smoke, a flying projectile, a new shot effect, and the release of casings. All this looks very spectacular alongside the Viking’s Overdrive or the “Autocannon” augment for Smoky, which greatly increases the firing rate.

If you’re wondering how to get the new skin, well, we have good news. You don’t need to buy Smoky HD. Actually, you won’t need to do anything to get it. On January 29th, we will simply replace the current default Smoky’s skin with the new HD one. Default skins were needing an update for a long time and that’s why we decided to make HD skins.

New augments

The remastered skin is cool, but we also paid attention to how the turret works and have brought a surprise new release. In addition to remastering Smoky’s skin textures, it will also get projectiles like Gauss, Thunder and Vulcan have and we are also changing some of its augments and adding a few new ones. Let’s take a look at our hot new additions:

• «Paralyzing Rounds» — critical hits will deal decreased damage but will immobilize the target.
• «EMP Rounds» — critical hits will deal decreased damage but will disable the target’s activated supplies.
• «Rubberized Rounds» — adding ricocheting shells that may hit enemies and even deal critical damage after ricocheting. However, the maximum number of ricochets is limited and shell speed is decreased.
• «Explosive Rounds» — such rounds can hit multiple targets at once with splash damage, but the damage radius is not that large due to the turret’s small caliber. Cumulative shots are not changed and deal critical damage only to one target.
• «Sorted Ammunition» —  guarantees that every fourth shot will deal critical damage.

For now, these new augments can only be obtained from Ultra Containers, so that’s why the upcoming Ultra Weekend will be most welcome.

Ultra Weekend is coming back!

Do you want to have a fun and energetic weekend? Play on Wasp with Smoky, feel the drive and a ton of emotions? Then do not miss it!

This weekend features a special themed game mode, increased funds and experience, lots of special offers, missions, new Ultra Containers, and Coinboxes.

First things first:

Themed game mode

You will not get bored. Old players will tell all about the good old dynamic rides on Wasps and Smokies, but now, you can experience the same drive on the updated Smoky, corresponding to the standards of quality and design.

• The special mode will be played on the “Short Bridge” map.
• It will be played on “Capture the Flag” mode in the 4 vs 4 format.

We start this year productively — new augments, events, remasterting Smoky and Hornet.

New currency

Yes, that’s it! With the server restart on January 29th, a new currency will appear in the game — «Shards»!

Its main feature is that it is free. You can get shards almost effortlessly. How? Let’s find out.

Roughly speaking, «Shards» are parts of containers. Once you have collected the required number of shards, you can exchange them for a container.

Ways of collecting shards:

• Completing daily missions — 30 / 50 / 70 Shards (depends on how difficult a mission is) in addition to other rewards.
• Ads.
  • You can watch ads only on the mobile version of the game and only once per 7 minutes. You can reset the timer by finishing a matchmaking battle.
• Get a free shard once every 800 seconds.
  • To start getting free shards, a player needs to enter the game;
  • Once you have 100 shards, you won’t be able to redeem any more for free;
  • To maximize the benefits, immediately exchange shards for a container and enter the game every day.

Exchanging shards for containers:

• You can exchange 100 shards for 1 container. To do so, you need to click on the icon to the right of the shards progress bar.
  • The shards progress bar under the container icon shows your progress in collecting shards.
  • When you can exchange shards for a container, a red dot indicator badge appears on the container icon and on the containers section’s icon so you can redeem your shards as quickly as possible.

• You may collect as many shards as you want. Each 100 shards can be exchanged for a container.
  • Example: If you have collected 200 shards, you can exchange them for 2 containers, 300 shards – 3 containers, and so on.

For now, the aforementioned methods are the only ways you can obtain shards. Later, we may add more ways of getting the new currency. Keep an eye on announcements.

Matchmaking

Last year, we implemented 2 experiments in Matchmaking and have received a lot of feedback from you as well as suggestions to improve the changes. Thanks for not remaining indifferent and sharing your feedback. We have done a lot of work analyzing your opinions and decided to make the following changes which will make the game more comfortable and dynamic.

Changes:

• Maps size and number of players depend on players’ ranks. The higher players’ ranks are, the more players there are in battles and the larger maps are.
• Now, the number of players in an MM battle depends on the size of the map.
• Now, the list of available maps depends on the number of players in an MM group.
• The higher your rank is, the more players you may invite. The maximum number of players in a group is 4 (including a group leader).

Rename your account

The long-awaited feature of renaming your account will finally appear in the desktop and mobile versions of the game.

We have made the process much easier. Now, you can change your nickname right in the «Account» section of the settings.

The price of changing your nickname remains the same — 2000 tankoins.

Please Note: After the server restart on January 29th, the Rename Pass item will disappear from the game. You will receive a compensation of 2000 tankoins for each pass you own prior to the restart.

Crusader Sounds

We got some feedback from you about Crusader sounds needing some fixes. With this release, we are removing excessive whistle sound, so it will be much more comfortable to play on Crusader with sounds enabled.

Miscellaneous Changes

This Friday, we will also make some changes to the layout and texts of the Garage, challenge screen, battles list, and PRO battle results screen.

• Fixed the bug with inviting friends to an «unavailable» PRO battle.
• Fixed the bug with battles list disappearing after using search feature;
• Improvements of equipping items by double click;
• Added a clan members section to the friends screen;
• Copied the «Victory», «Defeat» and «Draw» screens from the mobile version to the desktop one.
