War Site Login Issues

After the restart of the War event many players encountered the authorization bug on the site. We’re working on fixing the issue since morning, but were unable to fix the error yet.

 

Our engineers are working around the clock to launch the War site as soon as possible, so everyone can take part in the event.

 

We remind you, the registration on the site and voting for territories to attack and defend is necessary for your stars to be counted in the War. Only after confirming your choice on the site you will be able to earn stars in Matchmaking battles.

 

We are very sorry the event started this way, and ask you to please be patient a little more as our specialists continue working on fixing the site as soon as possible.

The «Trick-or-Treat» mini-game

The «Trick-or-Treat» mini-game has become a Halloween tradition in our game, and this year is not an exception!
On October 27th, we invite you to take part in our dangerous journey to search for valuable prizes!

With the server restart on Friday, October 27th, 2 AM UTC, the «Trick-or-Treat» mini-game will start on the special website. You will have time to conquer all the demonic islands in the afterlife and grab all the prizes by November 20th, 2 AM UTC!

To get your tank moving between mysterious islands, your tank will need fuel — Lollipops.

Important: The «Trick-or-Treat» mini-game’s website is only available on PC. You still can earn Lollipops by playing the mobile version of the game, but to enter the website you will need a PC.

How to Start

To start your journey, you need to log in to the mini-game website, using the nickname and the password of your in-game account.  

If you use Facebook or Google to log in to your account, you will need to contact our customer service to get a password for your account to enter the website.

Islands

The mini-game map consists of islands, and on each of them, either a trick or treat awaits you.

Let’s start with the treats — crystals, Tankoins, and containers. When you visit an island, a treat is sent to a special storage at the Checkpoint, and is not immediately credited to your in-game account.  

When you launch the engines of your tank, 10 Lollipops are consumed and they may be enough to move one, two, or three islands forward.  

And now let’s talk about the tricks — there will be special «Islands of Fortune» on your way. By entering them, you can move either forward, or go 5 islands back. Within the same lap, each trap can only work once, so if you hit an «Island of Fortune» and are pushed back, that island will not push you back in the same lap again.  

Don’t worry, even if luck is not on your side and you get pushed back, you can receive a reward for each island that you pass twice on your way forward.

Checkpoints

A player starts their journey from the 1st checkpoint. The mini-game ends after 6 laps — when you reach the 7th checkpoint. 

After passing the whole lap, a player gets to the checkpoint – the main island. There is a special vault on it to store all the prizes that the player received on these islands. When visiting a main island, the player can transfer the prizes from the vault to their in-game account.  

Moreover, whenever you visit a checkpoint, we add more unique rewards to your vault.

Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Account security is essential for any online game and any website, and Tanki Online is no exception. 










With tomorrow’s servers restart on July 2nd, an option to enable two-factor authentication will appear in the game.





 





If you have never heard about this feature before, don’t worry, just read this announcement in full and it will be explained.










The idea behind the two-factor authentication (2FA) feature is that in addition to your login and password, you also need to enter a one-time code to log in to your account. This code is generated real-time by a special app on your smartphone and the code changes every 30 seconds. Enabling this feature will secure your account from being hacked as your smartphone will be needed to enter your account.










In order to use this feature you need to download an authenticator app to your smartphone. We recommend using one of the following apps: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, LastPass Authenticator or Authy.










An Authenticator is a smartphone app that lets you use two-factor authentication to secure your accounts by generating a one-time code that you need to enter to log in to your account.





 





You will be able to enable two-factor authentication after tomorrow’s servers restart on July 2nd.

Earlier this year we started a new tradition that took place during some festive events; the ability for you to send us your wishes for the game and possibly receive some cool prizes. In the past, we launched your wishes into space, blew them out over birthday candles, etc. Today, we suggest that you send us your congratulations.


 


To do that, you need to:

What’s new in HTML5

Some time ago, the new HTML5 version of TO became available for most players. Have you tried it yet? If not, you can check it out right here!


Important: the new HTML5 version works only in Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers such as Yandex, Opera.


Your browser must also support WebGL2. You can check whether your browser supports WebGL2 here.


 


There are so many changes in the game interface that some people thought it was a brand new game!


But no. This is the same Tanki Online you’ve been playing, so you can keep using your current login and password.


 


Let’s have a look at the changes:


 


Main screen


 


Now, upon entering the game, you’ll see a cleaner, more modern-looking interface.


From the main screen, you’re only one click away from playing your next Battle, chatting, opening Containers, reviewing Missions, visiting the Shop or Garage, or even creating a MM group.


You can also see your Challenge level, number of Stars earned, Premium days and Tankoins.




 


Garage


 


Your Garage Gear Score is readily visible.The same goes for your Supplies inventory and stats for your currently-installed equipment. You can see everything at a glance, including your Upgrade level.


One of the most common complaints we used to get, was that it’s hard to find your desired Paint in the Garage. The new HTML5 version has fixed that issue. Now you can sort your paints by «Rarity».


 


 


Missions and Challenge


 


The display here is very straightforward. Mission → Progress → Play.


 


Containers


 


Quite a few players often wonder what kinds of rewards might drop from Containers.


Now, you can see all possible item drops in the Containers section.


 


Settings section


 


Sound effects are an important part of the game. Now, we’ve added customizable settings for each audio type.


And there’s more coming. In the near future, we’ll make it possible to change even more parameters, as well as customize your controls!


 


Friends


 


This section is now more informative. You can see how many in-game friends you have, and how many of them are online. You can even search for a specific friend in your list!




 


Creating a battle


 


Dreams come true! Now, you can sort the battle list by mode, name, number of players, duration and even score. This makes it easier to find specific format battles, or long 999 flag battles. And even here, you can search by name.

Updated interface, showing Protections and GS in the TAB battle stats, important notifications and even a Radar!


The radar shows you the locations of your teammates and opponents within a radius of 60 meters, and their elevation in relation to your position.


 


Update


 


Additionally, with the server restart on September 20th at 02:00 UTC, a cool update will be released in the new HTML5 version. This update will bring important changes to the camera movement.


When we created the game, there was no mouse camera control mode. This was added much later. But there were some complications.


We tried using the same mechanics as the keyboard, which includes inertia. So, when a player stopped moving the mouse, the camera would keep going, which is not something you’d expect in a mouse camera control mode.


With the next release, camera mechanics will be different for keyboard and mouse modes. So camera movement should be just as you expect it, depending on what mode you play in.


 


Additionally Gauss, Striker and Juggernaut will have their own unique reticles, emphasizing their specific qualities.


 


As you can see, there’s quite a bit to be excited about.


So, don’t wait. Jump into the new HTML5 version now, and make sure you check out the improved camera controls tomorrow.

Take part in Blitz tournaments!

            

            

                
Hello tankers!


 


Did you know that almost every week in Tanki Online there is a regular Blitz tournament? This tournament is a great place to start for beginners, because any team can take part in it!


 


The next tournament will be held in Medium format, which allows almost all turret and hulls.


 




 


Battles are also held in Light format, which is played with Railgun and Smokey, as well as in the usual XP / BP.




 


 


Each team will receive 30,000 crystals for each victory in the tournament and 20,000 crystals for each defeat. In addition, the three best teams in each grid will receive additional rewards:  300, 200 and 100 thousand crystals!


And what if you win several Blitz tournaments? Premium, Shot Effects and Tankoins will add up to the prize!


 


You can claim such prizes as well! To do this, you need a few simple steps:



That’s it, your team is now participating in the tournament and can compete for prizes like crystals and rating points that will help you move into professional leagues.

What to do when Flash goes away

            

            

                
TL;DR: Flash is being phased out, but you still have a few options if you wanna play Tanki Online. Details below.


 


Tankers,


 


As you know, Tanki Online was built on Flash technology. Unfortunately, in July, the Chrome browser will once again be upgraded, and running Flash will become a bit more complicated than it is now. And it will also be more problematic.


 


We currently have a working HTML5 version of Tanki Online, but we’re not quite happy with its performance yet. So, we have been rebuilding the HTML5 version that —according to preliminary estimates— will work faster than Flash and than the current html5. Moreover, it will correct some of the so-called “early-life problems” still currently plaguing the game’s architecture. In short, it will be faster, cooler and more stable.


 


However, the new HTML5 version is still in the works. So in the meantime, you’ll have a few different options for playing Tanki Online.


 


Option 1 – Game Client


 


The first option is the game client.


 


    

  1. Visit the Tanki Online homepage and click on the big «Download» button at the top right of the page. Or you can download the client directly from this link.
    2. 

  2. Download and install the Tanki client. The Tanki Online icon will appear on your desktop.
    3. 

  3. Log into your account with your username and password, and start playing. The client also has the option to remember your login details. Pretty handy.
    4. 



 


Option 2 – Chrome


 


The second option is a bit of a headache, and you’ll only be able to do it AFTER Version 76 of Chrome is rolled out.


 


    

  1. You will need to go to Chrome settings, look for Flash and click on «Allow».
    2. 

  2. Next, you’ll have to go to the Tanki Online homepage and click “Play”.
    3. 

  3. When the game window appears, you’ll have to click on the padlock icon and click «Allow». And, every time you restart your browser, you’ll need to do the thing with the padlock again.
    4. 



 


Yes, it’s a bit of a pain, but if you absolutely want to play on the Chrome browser, you’ll just have to put up with it.


 


Option 3 – The current HTML5 version


 


Your third option is to use the existing HTML5 version. Remember, this version is not optimized, so it probably won’t work well on older computers.


 


All you need to do is click here, login and play.


 


You’ll notice some very minor differences from the Flash game — mainly the fonts. And remember, you’ll need a computer with a decent graphics card to run it.


 


So make sure you’re prepared with one of these three options in July, because with the Chrome update, Flash is expected to become problematic.


 


Some additional news


 


Once we launch the new HTML5 version, we also plan on re-working the game interface. It will be more informative, and easier to understand and navigate. The design will change both in the menu and in battle.
